Helen Browning has a very mixed organic farm in Wiltshire, with dairy, beef, pigs, sheep, agro-forestry, and arable enterprises. ‘Helen Browning’s Organic’ supplies organic meat to multiple and independent retailers and she also runs a dining pub with rooms and a restaurant. She is Chief Executive of the Soil Association, a member of the Food Ethics Council, trustee of the RSPB, and recently appointed to the RSA’s Food Farming and Countryside Commission as well as the BBC’s Rural Affairs Advisory Committee. Helen was formerly Director of External Affairs at the National Trust and has had a number of roles in agri-politics over the years, including the ‘Curry’ commission on the future of food and farming. Helen was awarded an OBE in 1998 for her services to organic farming.
